Artist

My goal is to present passionate work. I long to record wonderful forms found in common objects. I work to express myself artistically, purely, and abstractly. My work has allowed me to experience unique visual experiences. My eye is drawn like a moth to a flame. 

Man desires to communicate, it is essential. Memorability is a complicated process in abstract work, yet it is simple as well. One must go to a calm, peaceful, uncomplicated state. We all have equal intuitive experience in the understanding of symbols, shapes, and forms from early childhood. Visual memorability becomes palpable when we experience cohesive works of art. Presentation is the pinnacle of the artist pursuit, these artistic presentations offer truth and the results are compelling. 

I seek to successfully communicate with the viewer. I aspire to create images which cause deep thoughtful contemplation. Our visual journey is a compelling narrative assembled to engage us in a photographic communication which sparks the imagination. The images cause us to wonder for a moment – linger if you will. 

Image Design

The work is presented in the abstract style. My pure abstract treatment is demonstrated through a unique approach. Strongly composed images offer a visual and emotional experience. Movement, tension, and rhythm across the picture plane introduce energy. 

Framing and selection begin the foundation. The vantage points (or point of view) vary according to the subject. The use of focal point, light, line, & shape are used to lead the viewer's eye down into the depths of the image, across the surface, and concentrically around the image. Often the narrative changes as the light or shadow enters the compositional dance. 

Form becomes narrative as the composition and color work together to convey a cohesive presentation as the shape and line become a treat for the eye and memory. A thoughtful and meditative state is achieved.  

Our Visual Journey

Finally, a shifting depth of field specifically impacts the final compositional triumph. The diagonals coming from the upper and lower corners direct our attention just as the depth of field draws our eye into, around, and back to the compositional strengths. The intentional redirection to the original focal point is achieved. The viewer is drawn into the unity and balance within the image.

The refined forms emphasize the visual journey between the artist and the viewer. Together we transport common experiences and memories into a synergistic visual dialogue.
